I’m Lasse Lund Petersen, the eye behind llp-photography.
Born in Denmark, my unusual first name often raises eyebrows — (and a “pardon?”). My first decent camera was an Olympus OM 10. It was a film camera, back in the days when every frame mattered. Later, as a dentist, I returned to photography through clinical work. What began as documentation rekindled my love for photography — a fascination with light, form, and the fleeting details that make up a moment.
Now retired, photography is no longer a sideline but a way of being. Every landscape and every encounter with wildlife, I try as hard as I can to be true to what I see. I’m reminded of how small we are, and how much beauty surrounds us if we take the time to notice.
I live in Poynton, Cheshire, with my wife Jane and our golden retriever Saga — named after the Norse goddess of storytelling. Much of my inspiration comes from Anglesey in North Wales, where sea, sky, and land shift endlessly with the seasons. You ill see many images of my home country Denmark, as well as wild life from places such as South Africa that I have been so very lucky to visit
This website is a collection of the places and moments that have spoken to me. Every image here is my own work, created with patience, curiosity, and no small measure of joy. Thank you for stopping by — I hope my photographs offer you a glimpse of why I enjoy photography so much.
